I know that I've asked this before, but that was before the site got jacked up. There used to be a way to hide deviations without deleting them. Does that function still exist?

I can't be the only one to notice this. So, a few weeks ago, I was talking with my dad about looking for a job in a particular field while my phone is nearby, and ads for that job start appearing on my phone for the next few weeks. Little things like this happen way too often to be a coincidence.

Likewise, my laptop is old, but I'm holding off on upgrading to get as much use out of this one as possible. Also, it irks me that Microsoft Word is now a subscription and not a simple purchase. I said all of this to my dad last night, and this morning, turning on my laptop had some funky results. I had to reboot it twice, and Microsoft Word acted like it was freshly downloaded. All my files were thankfully safe, but my presets were gone, and the new formats were a little offputting. Again, my phone was nearby during this conversation.

Am I paranoid, or have other people also noticed this?

I came up with this a while ago, but I figured it was worth it to share my thoughts.

As some of you may know, Disney planned on releasing an interpretation of Jack and the Beanstalk called Gigantic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-zFdZ_D-wI&t=6s Unfortunately, it was canceled in 2017, and I think I know why. You see, Zootopia is a furry movie. No, I don’t care to hear arguments to the contrary. Zootopia checks all the boxes, and appeals pretty blatantly to furries in a way that’s still family-friendly.

Now, certain artistic and business decisions aside, Disney isn’t stupid. They know the internet exists. They know that Rule 34 (if it exists, there’s porn for it) is a thing. I strongly believe that in the preproduction phase of Zootopia, a team of creators, marketers, executives, etc. all gathered for a closed-door conference on the porn that would inevitably come from a movie about anthro (humanized animals) characters. Ultimately, given Disney’s history with such character models, particularly Robin Hood, I think this team concluded that while the fan-made porn would be substantial, it wouldn’t be enough to hurt Disney’s family-friendly reputation. Also, they may have simply been personally comfortable with these characters being lewded by the fans. Anyone following news on the movie around its release knows that Disney definitely got flack for this, so I’d say such a hypothetical team meeting was warranted.

So, when it came time to create Gigantic, a movie about a giant young girl and her tiny adult male friend, Disney had another such team assemble for a meeting. As before, they discussed the Rule 34 impact the movie would have, which probably involved exploring certain websites for references. However, unlike with Zootopia, the team decided they couldn’t handle the pornographic onslaught. Maybe it’s because Gigantic was about an adolescent girl while Zootopia was about adults, maybe the subject matter wasn’t to the creators’ preferences, or maybe it was a combination of these and other factors. Ultimately, the movie was canned. And while there are a bunch of perfectly mundane reasons for these kinds of cancelations, such as production errors, creative disagreements, budgeting issues, and so on, I firmly believe that part of the reason we never got to see Gigantic was that Disney feared the blowback from the fan art.

There's an app for that https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/return-youtube-dislike/gebbhagfogifgggkldgodflihgfeippi/related Yeah, pretty nuts, right? There's no way to know how long this'll last, but I say we exploit the hell out of it while we can.

If you haven't seen the new show Debris, you ought to. It's good. The premise is that debris from an alien craft is raining all over Earth, and each piece causes all kinds of strange phenomenon. Anyway, I was watching the latest episode with my folks when I made a funny.

The episode opens in a storage area where the government agency is keeping smaller pieces of debris in large crates. A black scientist is taking inventory and moving crates around, only to see one crate move on its own. I cry out, "Dude, you're the black guy in a haunted house. Run!" We see him go bug-eyed, like's he's also figured out that he's about to be the victim of a trope. And then a piece of debris flies out of the crate and kills him. We laughed so hard.
